André Klein is Managing Director (Creation) at Scholz & Friends Hamburg.

Born in 1969, Klein began his career in 1991 with an advertising traineeship at McCann Erickson in Düsseldorf.  In 1993, he moved to BBDO to work as a copywriter. He then went on to work for McCann Erickson Frankfurt, D´Arcy, Scholz & Friends und d.pole Hamburg. Prior to joining Scholz & Friends Hamburg, Klein worked as a freelance creative director and creative consultant for various agencies and companies. His area of focus here was product concept development and innovation. During the course of his career, he has been responsibility for the creative brand management of names such as Dr. Oetker, Fanta, IKEA, Knorr, L´Oreal, Mars, Nescafé and Tchibo.

Klein’s has won numerous awards for his work, at both national and international creative festivals such the Cannes Lions, Clio, Effie, ADC Deutschland and the New York Festivals. Klein has also been a lecturer at the Texterschmiede Hamburg since 2001.

Matthias Schmidt is Partner and Executive Board Member of Scholz & Friends Group as well as Creative Managing Director at Scholz & Friends Hamburg.

Matthias Schmidt was born in Frankfurt in 1970. He studied social and economic communication at the University of the Arts in Berlin and obtained his degree in communication in 1998. He launched his career in 1998 as a junior copywriter at Scholz & Friends Berlin, where he became a senior copywriter one year later and, in 2001, Creative Director and Family Head. In 2005, Schmidt, who has received numerous national and international awards, was appointed to the Management Board of Scholz & Friends Hamburg. In this function, he is responsible for the creative performance of the agency, in particular for renowned clients like Holsten, Honda, Commerzbank, Siemens, Zimbo or Tchibo. In April 2008, he was appointed Executive Board Member of the Scholz & Friends Group.

Schmidt has been a member of the Art Directors Club Deutschland since 2001. His works scooped prizes, among others, in Cannes, at the ADC Deutschland and in New York, at the Clio awards and at the London International Advertising Award. From 2006 until 2009, Matthias Schmidt earned his Abschluss Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the Berlin School for Creative Leadership. In 2009, he was member of the jury at the international award festival Cannes Lions and jury president of the Eurobest.

Setfan Setzkorn is Creative Managing Director at Scholz & Friends Hamburg. In his function, he is responsible for the creative performance of the agency, in particular for renowned clients like Siemens, TUI and Holsten.

Setzkorn was born in Stuttgart in 1968. He studied communication design at the Technical University of Düsseldorf. He launched his career as a junior art director at the Serviceplan agency in Munich, subsequently working as an Art Director at Euro RSCG Düsseldorf and DDB Worldwide. In 1998, Setzkorn moved to Scholz & Friends Hamburg, where he was promoted to Creative Director two years later. In 2004, the creative head, who has won numerous national and international awards, was appointed to the Management Board of Scholz & Friends Hamburg.

Setzkorn has been a member of the Art Directors Club Deutschland since 2003. His works were successful, among others, in Cannes, the ADC Deutschland and in New York, at the London International Advertising Award, at the Clio and Effie awards.

Frank-Michael Trau has been Managing Director of Consulting at Scholz & Friends Hamburg since 2004 and has headed the agency together with Matthias Schmidt, Stefan Setzkorn and Alexander Yazdi since 2008.

Upon completing his training as an industrial clerk, Trau enrolled in a business studies programme at the University of Münster. He began his advertising career in 1991 as an Account Manager for Lintas Hamburg, where he was responsible for accounts such as Unilever and Nestlé, among others. From 1994 to 1999, he served as Business Development Director and Management Supervisor at TBWA Hamburg. In this position, he attended to the client Beiersdorf both nationally and internationally. Among others, he acquired accounts from Pelikan, DAK and Hamburger Sparkasse. In his most recent position, Trau served as Managing Director of the TBWA subsidiary Planet Communications Hamburg.

Since 2004, Frank-Michael Trau has been in charge of accounts such as Siemens Household Appliances, Honda Motor Europe (North), TUI, Hamburg-Mannheimer and the Carlsberg Germany Group at Scholz & Friends Hamburg.

Alexander Yazdi has been Managing Director of Consulting at Scholz & Friends Hamburg since 2004 and has headed the agency together with Matthias Schmidt, Stefan Setzkorn and Frank-Michael Trau since 2008.

After completing his degree in business studies and obtaining his MBA, Yazdi began working with Michael Conrad & Leo Burnett in 1992. After 6 years of collaboration with the client Philip Morris, he took on various other ranges of duties for further clients such as Walt Disney, Delta Air Lines, Focus Magazine, Coca-Cola GmbH, the European Commission Directorate-General VI Agriculture (a Europe-wide image campaign for olive oil) and others.

In 1999, Alexander Yazdi was able to profitably use his knowledge for the brands Absolut Vodka, Bic and Röhnquelle at TBWA. He then switched to J. Walter Thompson in 2001, where he became Client Service Director and Member of the Managing Board. Yazdi was able to demonstrate his overall strengths in the area of FMCG for clients such as Reckitt Benckiser (Veet, Sagrotan, Kukident), Unilever Bestfoods Deutschland (Mondamin), Diageo (Smirnoff, Baileys) and Interbrew (Beck's).

At Scholz & Friends, Alexander Yazdi is responsible for clients such as AWD, Commerzbank, Iglo and Reemtsma (JPS and Route 66), among others.

Roland Bös is member of the executive board of Scholz & Friends Hamburg.

Roland Bös, born on 23 February 1972, is a trained advertising clerk and graduate in communication studies. He spent his compulsory military service at a press office of the Bundeswehr. While studying in Berlin, he wrote for the specialised advertising journal Horizont, among others.

Roland Bös spent his practical study term at Bates Worldwide in New York. After entering Scholz & Friends in 2000 as Assistant to the Managing Board, he began building up the staff position for Business Development and Customer Canvassing from 2001 as Head of New Business. As Deputy Managing Director of the Scholz & Friends Dialog Group, he has accompanied the joint venture with the gkk DialogGroup in Frankfurt, the largest owner-operated dialogue agency in Germany, since 2005.

Roland Bös has gathered experience in national and international customer and brand liaison through his work for clients in the automotive, financial services, fast-moving consumer goods, publishing and media branches among others.

As a visiting lecturer, Roland Bös teaches innovation management at the FHTW Berlin, at the Academy U5 in Munich and at the University of the Arts in Berlin (UdK) and assesses students prior to their diploma on a regular basis.
