Scholz & Friends – a workshop of ideas, all designed to maximise the success of big brands with the aid of excellent creation and orchestrated communication. Since it was founded in Hamburg in 1981, the agency has enjoyed unprecedented success, starting in Germany and gradually spreading across Europe. Today, Scholz & Friends has around 800 employees and is active all over the Europe.
From its original roots as a stand-alone advertising agency, Scholz & Friends gradually evolved to become a network of agencies capable of spanning the entire spectrum of communication instruments, from advertising, public relations, dialogue, online, events, architecture and design, right through to TV productions. All the network’s offices work together according to our guiding principle of orchestrated communication: the harmonious interplay of all communication instruments to express and drive forward the conducting idea. Scholz & Friends’ orchestrated performance is enhanced by three further value creators: strategic competence, creative excellence and international presence.
Scholz & Friends is the only European agency network to be managed from Germany - we unite an international scope with highly focused, hands-on entrepreneurship. Around 40 senior executives and the Group’s Board of Directors hold a stake in the company. Scholz & Friends’ headquarters are in Hamburg and Berlin; the Scholz & Friends Group also has over 30 offices across Europe. Furthermore a strategic alliance with Lowe Worldwide secures the presence of Scholz & Friends in all important markets beyond Europe.
The year Scholz & Friends was founded the agency won its first major clients, Reemtsma and Tchibo. Numerous big names followed, including Daimler, TUI, Ideal Standard, Masterfoods, Siemens; institutions, like the federal government and the State of Baden-Württemberg, and media, such as Frankfurter Allgemeine newspaper. Today, Scholz & Friends has over 250 clients worldwide and the Group’s turnover in 2007 was in excess of €75 million.
From the very beginning, Scholz & Friends has been one of the top addresses for creativity in the advertising industry. It is the only German agency to be named one of the country’s three most creative advertising agencies for a continuous period of ten years. Every year, our creative minds win awards at all the major German and international competitions. Scholz & Friends also received awards for outstanding quality in the fields of PR, events, design, interactive and dialogue and is steadily and successfully evolving its "Orchestra of Ideas" concept.
