Press release
Every day, billions of emails are sent. Most of these are superfluous and a waste of time. Let?s be honest: there are just too many emails. It is for this reason that Scholz & Friends has brought out an ?Email Etiquette Guide?, a charmingly illustrated manual that reveals why Immanuel Kant did not write emails, why Thomas Mann did not call his book ?Fwd: Fwd: Helloo? instead of ?Magic Mountain? and why the American Indians were responsible for inventing the mass mail.
The advantages of the email are apparent: they facilitate processes and increase productivity. Wrongly used however, they can become an efficiency killer in a company. The ten simple rules listed in the guide explain the appropriate and responsible use of the most important communication channel for today?s generation. It advises on when to ignore emails and how to answer them efficiently. It also makes recommendations on how to phrase and address them properly. Because, at the end of the day, emails are like the messengers of ancient Rome: if the wrong message arrives at the wrong time, it will be killed ? deleted that is.
?We want more time for ideas and less distraction through floods of meaningless emails,? said Matthias Spaetgens, Managing Director at Scholz & Friends Berlin, explaining the reasons for the guide, ?It is a plea for more direct conversation. In talking to one another, not only do you get to know each other better, but can avoid misunderstandings.?
?The Scholz & Friends Email Etiquette Guide? is available in bookstores immediately at a price of 15 Euros. It can also be ordered directly from the publishers, Verlag Herrmann Schmidt Mainz at http://www.typografie.de.
