Scholz & Friends refreshes Fisherman’s Friend
The Berlin Friends launch a TV campaign for the legendary lozenges

6/10/2010, Berlin - “Sind sie zu stark, bist Du zu schwach.” (“If they're too strong, you're too weak”) – Once, Fisherman's Friend took the German market by storm with this slogan. Now Scholz & Friends Berlin is bringing the fishermen's lozenges ashore and recharging the cult slogan with dry humor and powerful images. The first three of a total of five TV commercials will be shown around the time of the World Cup, beginning on 11 June 2010.

In the Berlin-based creative agency's films, the well-known slogan is split into two parts and illustrated with dramatically contrasting images: The first part (“Sind sie zu...” - “If they're too...”) illustrates the intense sensation of Fisherman’s Friend, its unique taste and the special fresh experience. The second part (“Bist Du zu…” - “you're too...”) shows the flavorless, bleak world without Fisherman’s Friend. The whole thing is done with the brand's trademark tongue-in-cheek provocation: one commercial, for instance, shows – appropriately for the World Cup – frenetically celebrating German football fans in the first part and a small group of depressed supporters of the Dutch national team in the second.

The second flight of the TV campaign is planned for fall 2010.

Fisherman’s Friend is one the best-known confectionery brands in Germany. The product is exported into over 100 countries worldwide. Germany is the largest single market for the brand Fisherman's Friend, which is also the biggest individual imported British brand in the food sector.
