Great Ideas

Germany’s most valuable assets are the ideas of the people who live here. Six of the greatest German ideas were presented to visitors from all around the world at the Football World Cup 2006 in the form of gigantic sculptures exhibited in prominent positions in Berlin’s city centre.

GREAT IDEAS showcases these sculptures in photos by Stefan Erfurt and an essay on nation branding by Sebastian Turner. The large pictures show the sculptures and their impact on their surroundings. Adam Soboczynski observed just how spectators reacted to the sculptures; he describes the remarkable appearance of these temporary landmarks and how they shape their environment. The book was designed by the award winning graphic artist, Petra Reichenbach.
